Work With Me

For publishers, art directors and authors with a story they care about. Here's what I make and how we'd work together.

How a picture book comes together

I share composition and pacing ideas with the reasoning behind them, and I always look forward to hearing yours. You'll get clear updates at every stage, so you always know where the book is.

  1. Storyboard

Storyboard and style direction, with character designs and a colour palette or mood board. Includes 2 to 3 rounds of revisions.

    分鏡與風格方向

  2. Colour roughs

Once the storyboard is approved, I set the light and colour for every spread.

  3. Final art

With composition and style agreed, I paint the finished pages.

    完稿

  4. Delivery

Print-ready files, checked for bleed and format. Small text edits are included for six months after delivery.

A good fit

Stories set in the natural world, with anthropomorphic animals at their heart and real feeling underneath. Picture books for readers 8 and up, and animal nonfiction. Clients who leave room for interpretation, and who care about detail as much as I do.

My style isn't the right match for cartoon or chibi characters, books for toddlers, or minimal flat-colour work. If that's what you need, I'm happy to point you elsewhere.

Questions

Do you work with self-publishing authors?

Yes. Beyond the illustrations, I can guide you through storyboarding, page layout, print specifications and file delivery.

How long does a project take?

Every book is different, so we'll plan the schedule together at the start, around your publishing date and the scope of the project. Once we agree on it, I'll keep you updated at every stage.

How do usage rights work?

Rights are agreed for each project and written clearly into the contract. I keep the right to show the work in my portfolio.

Can we work together from another country?

Of course. I'm based in Taiwan and work with clients by email in English and Chinese.

How much does it cost?

Every book is different, so I quote after hearing about your project: page count, format, timeline and rights. Send me the details and I'll reply with a quote.

Tell me about your project

Please tell me as much as you can: the full story or manuscript, the page count, the trim size you have in mind and your publishing timeline. The more detail you share, the better I can plan your book and give you an accurate quote. You're welcome to attach your manuscript below.

請盡量完整告訴我:故事內容、文字稿、頁數、期待的開本、預計出版時間。資訊越多越好,我才能更準確地規劃與報價。也歡迎直接附上文字稿。

I illustrate picture books about animals and nature, with realistic, expressive wildlife and gentle, detailed scenes. Does this fit the story you imagine?

我擅長繪製動物與自然題材的繪本:寫實而生動的動物,溫暖細膩的場景。符合你故事的想像嗎?
