About Grace

I'm Grace Wang 王思淳（九韭）; on social media I go by Jiu. I illustrate picture books, chapter-book covers and children's magazines for publishers and authors, and in 2026 I published my own picture book, Carried by the Wind.

My favourite subjects are animals and the places they live: forests, water's edges, the turn of the seasons, the quality of the light. I keep my animals true to life, with real fur, posture and expression. Cute, but never a cartoon.

I believe a good picture book doesn't belong only to children or only to adults; everyone can find a part of themselves in it. I draw for the inner child, the feelings we had before we had words for them. A story can be deep and still be gentle: the kind of book an adult wants to read aloud to a child.

我相信好的繪本不只屬於孩子，也不只屬於大人，每個人都能從中找到自己的一部分。我畫給大人的內在小孩，畫下那些小時候還說不出口的心情。可以有深度，但要溫柔、不沉重。
